Based on a 2017 Legg Mason Global Investment Survey, Singapore leads the world (at 61%) in terms of the proportion of people who had used the services of a financial advisor.
According to the Straits Times, an annual survey which covered 15,300 respondents in 17 countries across the Asia-Pacific region (including 900 from Singapore), Latin America, the United States and Europe revealed that Singapore leads the world (at 61 per cent) in terms of the proportion of people who had used the services of a financial adviser – the highest for the countries covered in the 2017 Legg Mason Global Investment Survey.
Coupled with Singapore’s reputation as a financial hub, its generally affluent and aging population presents a wealth of opportunities for those interested in carving out a career in the finance planning industry.
